ALONE was founded by volunteers and the spirit of volunteerism remains at the heart of their organisation. Volunteers are essential to their organisation and show how people in the community can look after each other.
Alone volunteers work closely with staff throughout all their services, in a range of different roles. They provide face to face and remote volunteering opportunities with time commitment varying from just an hour to few hours a week. ALONE holds two volunteer standards for good practice in volunteer management (Investing in Volunteers and Excellence in Quality in Befriending) as well as ISO, all of which help them to give the best experience to our volunteers during their time with us. All volunteers receive training and support.
